Emperor Tiberius was the second Roman emperor, ruling from 14 AD to 37 AD after the death of Augustus. He was a skilled military leader and expanded the Roman Empire’s frontiers early in his reign. He spent his later years in self-imposed exile on the island of Capri, leaving much of the governing to his advisors.
